Lino lived through WWII and had to flee his Italian hometown of Verteneglio when that small section of Italy was given to Yugoslavia. He and his family became refugees where they were divided and disbursed to various countries. For Lino, the destination was the USA where he ultimately studied biomedical engineering and created a new life for his young family.
After retirement, Lino channeled his life memories into 40 unique copper sculptures ranging from four inches to eight feet in height. His art, which included works that were not only copper, but also drawing, painting, photography, poetry, and jewelry making, offered a creative outlet for his soul to express emotion from his life experiences.
His use of copper represented his life, as working with this media required pounding the soft copper into a rigid structure, then applying heat to make it malleable so it could be formed into his stunning creations…a parallel of his life: soft, hard, happy, melancholy.
Lino’s art has been exhibited around the country but has not been available for sale until now. The copper series is being released in the winter of 2022 to be sold as one collection.
